Martinez fire personnel deserve praise for rescuing cat from tree

Lots of thanks go out to Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue Chief Doug Cooper and his staff for bringing the cat down from a tree in my neighbor's yard on March 16.

It was the cat's fourth day up there, so it's a wonder it survived!

First of all, thanks to the chief for sending the fire truck over, then to dispatcher Donna Blessing for being so understanding.

Then, of course to firefighters Paul Casey and Mike Greene. They were so pleasant and patient.

I am so proud of all of them, and am proud to live in Columbia County.
