Columbia County's greenspace program is sending letters to property owners this week to gauge their interest in participating in the program through donation or sale of their property or through conservation easements. Anyone interested in the program should call Greenspace Coordinator Stephanie Thomas-Rees at 868-3484.
There will be a bluegrass country gospel sing at 7 p.m. Friday at Purvis Community Center, located on Highway 17 between Thomson and Wrens. The program will feature internationally known songwriter Archie Jordan, the Byrd Family, Frank Greiner, Tom and Jean, Louise Roberts and others.
There is no charge for admission. A love offering will be received for the prison and outreach ministries. The program is sponsored by Bible Fellowship Church of Grovetown. For information, call 651-1971.

Happy Tails events
Happy Tails Rescue will hold a "doggie diner" from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at SuperPetz on Bobby Jones Expressway in Martinez, serving grilled hotdogs and drinks along with dog treats for pets. The Georgia Division of Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children will have a program about young children with special needs from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Gibbs Library.
