Approval of SPLOST will help meet growth needs of county schools

Posted: Wednesday, March 09, 2005

Editor:

We are most privileged in Columbia County to have a quality school system. Maintaining that quality requires the support and effort of the entire community.

We, as parents and citizens of Columbia County, can take that step forward to support our school system by voting yes for the continuance of the special-purpose, local-option sales tax (SPLOST).

This revenue will provide funding for new schools and capital improvements to meet the growth needs of our county.

I urge each of you to do your part by going to the polls and voting yes to continue the SPLOST for another five years for quality schools in Columbia County.
