Columbia County's greenspace program this week is sending letters to property owners to gauge their interest in participating in the program through donation or sale of their property or through conservation easements. Service academy applications
U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., is accepting applications for nominations to the nation's service academies through Sept. 30. Applications can be obtained by visiting www.chambliss.senate.gov.
Hunting, fishing permits
Applications for the annual public access drawing to Fort Gordon for hunting and fishing permits must be submitted before March 15. No more than three applicants per letter will be accepted. Applicants must at least be 16 years old and possess a valid Georgia Hunter Safety Card.
