Posted: Sunday, March 06, 2005

The public will have a chance to get a deeper understanding of revelatory knowledge in a one-day Bible prophecy conference at Abilene Baptist Church in Martinez.

From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 19, Abilene Baptist, 3917 Washington Road, will hold the Left Behind Prophecy Conference. Guest speakers will include Dr. Tim LaHaye, a co-author of the Left Behind series; Dr. Ed Hindson, the assistant chancellor and dean of the Institute of Biblical Studies at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.; and Dr. Gary Frazier, the founder of Discovery Ministries Inc., a full-time evangelism and education ministry to the Middle East, with an emphasis on Israel. Admission is $20, and lunch is available for $5.75.

"Our people love prophecy, and so many things are happening in the world today that point toward the fulfillment of prophecy," said Bill Harrell, the church's pastor, about the need to hold the event.

Harrell said he expects a capacity crowd of about 1,300 attendants. An overflow room will be available for additional space, where the conference will be broadcast on a big-screen television, he said.

For those attending the conference, Harrell said, some of the speakers' literature works will be on hand for purchasing. To register for the conference or for more information, visit www.abilene1774.org or call 869-1774.
