Appling area seems to be ignored when major storms come through

Is Appling "ICE-solated"?

Why is it every time there is a major storm or some kind of weather event, Appling seems to be missed by the media. Appling isn't even on the map until all the rain, sleet, ice, etc. has already passed. We get some of the worst weather and need the warnings from the media before it hits, not after.

Case in point: Friday, Jan. 28, early evening Appling: We were already getting ice. We had an eighth of an inch by 10 p.m.

Calling local television stations did no good. The Appling area had trees down and power outages before other areas, yet we weren't even mentioned in the news. Why is that?

Help us out. We are part of Columbia County, not just the "country."
