Lakeside won its fourth consecutive region traditional wrestling championship Feb. 5 at Jones County.
The Lakeside High School wrestling team defeated Effingham County and Jones County on the mat to win the region title. Eleven members of the team competed in the state championship.

The Panthers beat Effingham County and Jones County, which finished second and third, respectively.
Lakeside also qualified 11 wrestlers for state in 14 weight classes. The Panthers don't have a 112-pound or 275-pound wrestler so they went 11 for 12 in the region tournament.
The following wrestlers qualified for the state meet in Rome, Ga., which was to be held Saturday:
