Katie York Update
A copy of the Athlete Spotlight page from The Columbia County News-Times featuring Katie York is posted at Augusta Christian Schools, seeking prayers for the hospitalized swimmer. Katie is being treated for encephalitis at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital since suffering a seizure at school Jan. 24. According to her brother, Paul, who provides regular updates on Katie's condition through an Internet log, Katie continues to be in an induced coma. "She still is a bit of a mystery for our doctors in terms of exactly what is causing the encephalitis and at times in terms of how she is responding to medications," Paul writes in the latest update, "but all of the doctors remain confident that she will eventually pull through this."Updates on Katie's condition can be read at katieyork.blogspot.com.
