Parents shouldn't be criticized for questioning early-release proposal

I wish I knew what The News-Times meant by parents trashing the system based on bad information (editorial, Jan. 30, "Give schools time to work out plan details"). After all, the letters I have been reading in your newspaper are accurate in their information since it comes directly from the school system.

I know several, if not all, schools sent out packets and letters to the elementary school parents with the information outlining this proposal, and I have re-read this information in those letters. My packet from my school council actually asked us to read it and send them our concerns and questions.

I don't think you understand: Why are you beating up on parents who are questioning this idea? We, the parents, were asked to by the same people who proposed this idea to question it.

You need to get your facts straight on this issue.
