Columbia County shouldn't even consider partnership with Augusta

Editor:

Why would Columbia County Commission Chairman Ron Cross, along with his Development Authority personnel, even consider the possibility of associating with Augusta-Richmond County? Why would Columbia County taint or destroy its clean political and civic reputation by consolidating in any way with the rascals of Richmond County?

The Augusta Commission, with a couple of exceptions, is made up of idiots. The Board of Education really is not much better. The Aviation Commission may finally be turning around. The Fire Department, after a "Few" adjustments, seems to be showing progress. The economic development people are slandering one another and calling each other liars. Their Coliseum Authority is an additional fiasco. I also noticed in the paper a picture of Charles Walker on Augusta's negotiating team. Unbelievable!

The citizens of Augusta are completely disgusted with the entire situation. And Chairman Cross, you and your people want to consolidate with this? If you do, you may slow the exodus of citizens from Richmond County to Columbia County. Please don't.

On another topic, if Jim Whitehead had made the same horrifying, devastating, degrading, disgusting, dastardly, life-threatening remarks about Georgia Tech, all of you liberal Bulldogs would still be laughing.

Shut up, get a life and move ahead to more important things -- like a little sense of humor!
