Jazz mass

There will be a special celebration of Holy Communion with jazz music at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 30 at the Church of the Holy Comforter, which meets at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, 3300 Evans to Locks Road. Music of Duke Ellington and other jazz favorites will be featured, with a jazz pianist, saxophones, percussion section and flute trio under the direction of Robbie Jarrell. Donations for soldiers

Grovetown City Councilwoman Marjorie Adams is seeking donations of items for soldiers serving in the Mideast. Addresses for soldiers and soldiers who have been wounded also are available for those who would like to send letters of encouragement. Legal help

Staff from the Georgia Legal Services Program will offer free legal help to senior citizens on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Bessie Thomas Senior Center, 591 Euchee Creek Drive in Grovetown, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grovetown Senior Center, 103 W.
