Blood drive

Columbia County Emergency Services will hold its sixth annual Winter Blood Drive with the Shepeard Community Blood Center 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Evans Government Center Auditorium, located on Ronald Reagan Drive in Evans. Kindergarten preview

Stevens Creek Elementary School will hold a preview session for parents of pupils who will be kindergartners in 2005-06. The session, 6-7 p.m. Jan. 25, will include tours and information about kindergarten. For information, call Susan Hadden at 868-3705.

Scholars day

Jazz mass

There will be a special celebration of Holy Communion with jazz music at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 30 at the Church of the Holy Comforter, which meets at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, 3300 Evans to Locks Road. Music of Duke Ellington and other jazz favorites will be featured, with a jazz pianist, saxophones, percussion section and flute trio under the direction of Robbie Jarrell. Dance ministry

Total Dance in Praise dance team from Huntsville, Ala., will be ministering at City of Refuge Christian Center, 2659 Lamar Road in Hephzibah 10 a.m. Jan. 30. Call 592-5865.

Literary Guild meets Tuesday

The Columbia County Literary Arts Guild will hold its first "meet and greet" event 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at GMC-Augusta Community College, 115 Davis Road, Martinez.
