Blood drive

Columbia County Emergency Services will hold its sixth annual Winter Blood Drive with the Shepeard Community Blood Center 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Evans Government Center Auditorium, located on Ronald Reagan Drive in Evans. Kindergarten preview

Jazz mass

There will be a special celebration of Holy Communion with jazz music at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 30 at the Church of the Holy Comforter, which meets at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, 3300 Evans to Locks Road. Music of Duke Ellington and other jazz favorites will be featured, with a jazz pianist, saxophones, percussion section and flute trio under the direction of Robbie Jarrell.
