GOP breakfast
The Columbia County Republican Party will hold its monthly breakfast meeting Saturday at 9 a.m. The Peppermill restaurant in Evans. The guest speaker will be local Department of Transportation board member Bill Kuhlke. Cost for breakfast is $6.

The Augusta Opera will hold Opera goes Opry at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Boathouse in Augusta, with Edmund's Southern Barbecue, Texas two-step and line dancing, a silent auction, prizes for best Western attire and best dancing, and more. Columbia County Emergency Services will hold its sixth annual Winter Blood Drive with the Shepeard Community Blood Center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Evans Government Center Auditorium, located on Ronald Reagan Drive in Evans.
