Poblano's Mexican Grill opened in the former Twisted Chicken Cafe building in Evans on Jan. 6 and has been busy with customers since then, store manager Luis Bautista said Tuesday.
"Everything has been doing good,'' he said.
Twisted Chicken Cafe, which was owned by Susan and Tom Werner, closed in November after eight months of operation at the 4,500-square-foot establishment, located at North Belair and Evans to Locks roads.
Poblano's, which is being operated by the owners of the two Monterrey Mexican Restaurants in Columbia County, will offer the same types of meals as Monterrey, with a few extras.
"Everything in Monterrey is right here,'' Bautista said, adding that Poblano's also offers about 10 additional dishes.
Bautista said the owners of Poblano's didn't have much work to do with the former Twisted Chicken building to get it ready for business again.
"They did some new painting, and that's about it,'' he said, adding that there also was some remodeling to the kitchen area.
Bautista said Poblano's is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, opens at 11:30 a.m. on weekends and closes at 11 p.m. Fridays and 11:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Poblano's can be reached by phone at 364-3711.
