A note from the black community about Charles Allen Sr., from some of those who have lived here all of their lives and ones who have lived here most of their lives:

Allen was the assistant school superintendent of Columbia County and John Pierce Blanchard was the school superintendent.

Both were men of great integrity and always had a heart to listen to your concerns and would openly address them. They were men who loved their country and always worked for the betterment of all of God's people.

They will always live in the hearts and minds of blacks who knew them.
