Attacks by ACLU on traditional values have 'awakened sleeping giant'

Re Vera Farmer-Welk's Jan. 2 letter concerning the Ten Commandments and their relationship to our beloved country:

She asks why it is that, after 220 years, everything that we have done is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional.

I would like to offer one outstanding reason: The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and their money-grubbing buddies in the legal profession!

In the past century this outfit, with the help of liberal-leaning courts, has been able to convince a large part of the population that the Constitution means something entirely different than what its framers plainly stated, different from what the older generations (some still among us) learned in grade and high school (no more!).

Those who attempt to stand in the way of this behemoth are bludgeoned with every legal tactic in the book.

Few can afford the money needed to take on this crowd. But they will lose in the end! The sleeping giant has bestirred itself, as we saw in the recent elections.

We just have to make sure that we don't go to sleep again. There are organizations out there that are fighting this monster. Look them up and contribute to them!
