Soccer staffers sought

The Columbia County Patriots are expanding and reorganizing for the spring 2005 season.

Qualified personnel are needed to fill coaching and staff positions.

Kicking clinic

Evans High School kicker Reid Tankersley will hold a kicking clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 22 at Evans High School.

The clinic is for children ages 9-14. The cost is $20, and all the money will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. For information, call 863-5792.

Free-throw contest

Knights of Columbus Council 8495 will sponsor a local competition for the 2005 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.

This event, which is open to all children ages 10 to 14, will be held from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Jan. 9 in the St. Teresa of Avila gym on Pleasant Home Road in Augusta.

The Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually, with winners advancing through local, district and state competitions. For information, call Mike Lewczyk at 863-5778.

Soccer expansion

The Columbia County Patriots Soccer Club is adding 10-, 11-, 12-, 13- and 14-year-old groups for the spring season that runs from February until May. For more information, call 312-7488.

Fastpitch players needed
