Exhibit opens

The Augusta Museum of History, 560 Reynolds St. in Augusta, will hold an opening ceremony for the exhibition, A Slave Ship Speaks, The Wreck of the Henrietta Marie, at 2 p.m. Thursday. Admission costs $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children ages 6-18 and free for children ages 5 and under. Call 722-8454.

Makin' Maple

Mistletoe State Park, 3723 Mistletoe Road in Appling, will hold a Makin' Maple class from 1:30-3 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Nature Center. Park Superintendent Bill Tinley will demonstrate how to tap maple trees for syrup. The park will hold a Mountain Dulcimer Jam from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 15-16 at the Group Shelter. Call 541-0321.
