Kwanzaa program

The Augusta Museum of History, 560 Reynolds St. in Augusta, will hold a free Kwanzaa program today from 4-6 p.m. For information, call 722-8454.

Lifeguard training

The Augusta Red Cross will begin the lifeguard season with a class starting Monday and Jan. 14. Both classes will be held at the Fort Gordon pool. To register or to get information, call 724-8481.

Holiday closings

The Columbia County landfill will reopen Monday after being closed in recognition of Christmas. The department will be closed Saturday and reopen 6 a.m. Jan. 3 in recognition of New Year's Day.

Watch Night service

Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church, 703 Furys Ferry Road in Evans, will hold a Watch Night service Friday at 10 p.m. The church also will hold an annual consecration service Jan. 1 at 10:45 p.m. For information, call 860-7091.

Motorcycle raffle

Tickets are available for chances to win a 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster in a raffle sponsored by the American Red Cross. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold at $20 for one or $50 for three, and are available at the Red Cross office on Ellis Street in Augusta; at Augusta Harley-Davidson on Frontage Road; at Georgia Bank & Trust on Furys Ferry Road; or at Jim Hudson Lexus on Washington Road in Martinez.
