'Holiday' to be happy about is Christmas, so say it

Everyone needs to spend their money at businesses that say and display "Merry Christmas" instead of "happy holidays." I say thank you to everyone who does that. I also try to change the mindset of those who say "happy holidays."

First Bank on Furys Ferry Road has changed their sign that after Thanksgiving they had forgotten to change from happy holidays to "Merry Christmas." They were very gracious about doing that after a single e-mail from me.

Folks, it is not "happy holidays"; no store has an "after happy holidays sale" or a "last minute happy holidays sale." It is Christmas; or it is nothing.

Take out Christ and there is no Christmas. No one is offended by "merry Christmas. ...

If people speak out this dumb "happy holidays" and "season's greetings" mess will be a thing of the past.

If someone says "happy holidays," then ask them, "what holiday are we supposed to be happy about?" When they say Christmas, why not just go ahead and say Christmas?

If you speak out this year and encourage others to do the same, the "happy holidays" signs will be a distant memory. ...
