Christmas concert
The Lakeside High School Band will hold its annual Christmas Concert Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church of Augusta, 3500 Walton Way Extension. Admission is free.
Public hearing
The Columbia County Board of Education will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside Middle School, 1095 Furys Ferry Road in Evans, to discuss rezoning for the new elementary school on Mullikin Road. The schools affected by this rezoning are Riverside Elementary, Stevens Creek Elementary and Greenbrier Elementary.
Fire department meets
North Columbia Fire and Rescue will hold its annual meeting and report at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Eubank Blanchard Community Center in Appling. For information, call 541-3680.
Book sale
The Greenbrier High School Media Center, 5114 Riverwood Parkway in Evans, will play host to a scholastic community book sale from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Motorcycle raffle
Tickets are available for chances to win a 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster in a raffle sponsored by the American Red Cross. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold at $20 for one or $50 for three, and are available at the Red Cross office on Ellis Street in Augusta; at Augusta Harley-Davidson on Frontage Road; at Georgia Bank & Trust on Furys Ferry Road; or at Jim Hudson Lexus on Washington Road in Martinez. The winner will be announced Feb. 5.

Library food collection
Library patrons in Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Lincoln, Richmond and Warren counties are invited to pay off their overdue fines with cans of food during today through Tuesday. $1 of overdue fines will be excused for each can of food brought in. For information, call Saralyn Ingram at 821-2604.
