Parade sign-ups

Applications are available for the Columbia County Merchants Association Christmas Parade, which begins at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 in Martinez. For information, call Billy Becton at 863-7645.

Donations for soldiers

Grovetown City Councilwoman Marjorie Adams is seeking donations of items for soldiers serving in the Middle East. Especially needed are blankets, brown T-shirts, cotton underwear and boot-length socks, toiletries, magazines and other items. Donations may be dropped off during office hours at Grovetown City Hall, 103 Robinson Ave., or during the county's tree-lighting ceremony 4:30-7 p.m. Dec. 4 in Evans. For information, call 863-4576.

Crafters wanted

Crafters are wanted to display and sell their wares at the second annual Christmas in the Heart of Downtown Harlem. The show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 11 with the Harlem Christmas parade at 2 p.m. Space rentals will be $10 for a 10 x 10 spot. For information, call 556-0401.

Breakfast with Santa

TurkeyFest

The third annual Turkey Fest will be 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday at The Peppermill Restaurant in Evans, with a second seating for school board employees and their families from 5-8 p.m. Participants dine free on a traditional Thanks-giving meal, with tips going to the Golden Harvest Food Bank and the Columbia County Cares food pantry. Motown Christmas

Shoe donations

Augusta-area podiatrists are collecting new and used shoes that will be donated to the homeless. Donations of any type or size of shoes may be brought to any podiatrist's office through Jan. 3. For information, call Dr. Kent Kronowski at 724-0586.

Thanksgiving feast

Library food collection

Volunteers needed
