Donations for soldiers
Grovetown City Councilwoman Marjorie Adams is seeking donations of items for soldiers serving in the Middle East. Especially needed are blankets, brown T-shirts, cotton underwear and boot-length socks, toiletries, magazines and other items. The third annual Turkey Fest will be 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday at The Peppermill Restaurant in Evans, with a second seating for school board employees and their families from 5-8 p.m. Participants dine free on a traditional Thanks-giving meal, with tips going to the Golden Harvest Food Bank and the Columbia County Cares food pantry.
