Soccer record

Former Greenbrier student Zach Atkinson, a sophomore midfielder at Oglethorpe College, was selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, Sept. 27, through Sunday, Oct. 3. Atkinson set the league's new single-game scoring mark when he poured in seven goals in an 18-2 defeat of Fisk (Tenn.) University. Atkinson's seven goals shattered the SCAC single-game record of four, which was held by several players. Atkinson's 16 total points is tied for the fourth highest single-game total in Division III history. The seven goals scored is tied for the fifth-best single-game total.
