In a poll at newstimesonline.com, we asked readers to respond to the following question: Should Columbia County sign a contract with private garbage services so only one hauler goes to each neighborhood?

The responses:

No - let the free market handle it: 74 percent

Yes - it would cut down on all the different garbage trucks: 20 percent

Don't know - 6 percent
