The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
Stolen boxes
A Harlem man told police Thursday someone stole some boxes that he was moving out of his former Martinez home.
The 24-year-old Harlem man said he was packing items when a man drove into his yard and stole a few items and packed boxes. After hearing the man pull into the driveway, the Harlem man said he stepped outside, where he saw a man load two cardboard boxes into the backseat of a blue car, according to an incident report.
The unknown man reportedly said he was there to see a car the Harlem man was selling, but then insisted the boxes were his and were already in his vehicle's backseat, the report stated.
Underage alcohol citation
A 19-year-old Martinez man received a citation for possessing alcohol while underage after he was reportedly kicked out of a Halloween party Saturday night.
Richard Henry Wright II, of the 100 block of Morehead Drive, was later taken home by police, who responded after receiving a call from someone reporting trouble at the party on Creekview Court in Martinez.
Police say they found Wright dressed as a pirate sitting on the curb with blood on his face.
Wright told police he had gotten into an altercation with the host. The deputy issued a citation to Wright for possession of alcohol by a minor.
Halloween pranks
Several incidents of vandalism were reported Halloween weekend in Columbia County, including egged vehicles and an Evans home being "spooned."
An Evans homeowner told police a man called from a pay phone just before 10 p.m. Sunday, saying she had been "spooned," according to the incident report. An array of spoons were found in the woman's front yard.
Someone egged a truck while it was parked in the driveway of its Grovetown owners.
The owner's 16-year-old daughter heard a noise outside at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday and found the Chevy truck covered with eggs and two empty egg cartons on the ground, according to the incident report.
A Martinez woman also reported damage to her Ford Explorer after at least one egg was thrown at her vehicle while she traveled west on Wrightsboro Road near John Deere Parkway in Grovetown Sunday night. She told police a thrown egg broke the side turn signal and cover of her vehicle, but she did not see anyone, the report stated.
