Two Columbia County schools won homecoming games Friday as all county teams were in action.

Lee Banks threw two touchdowns and ran for another score as the Augusta Christian Schools Lions (5-3) won their third straight with a 23-7 win over Ben Lippen.

Banks connected with James Hawes for a 24-yard score in the first quarter and found Josh Whitaker on an 8-yard scoring pass in the second quarter. Banks added a 1-yard touchdown later in the second quarter.

Augusta Christian is closing in on a playoff spot in its first season in the South Carolina Independent Schools Association.

The Harlem Bulldogs also won a homecoming contest Friday, beating Cross Creek 26-19. The win was the Bulldogs' first region victory this season.

The Bulldogs scored on a reverse pass from Jeremy Larson to Robbie Perkins with 1:08 remaining to win the game.

Harlem (3-6) completed only two passes for the game, but one was the deciding play.

Junior Gabe Greer added 104 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Greenbrier (2-6, 2-3) fell on the road to Effingham County, 18-17.

The Wolfpack must win their final two games to make the playoffs.

Greenbrier faces the region's third-place team, Jones County, on Friday and finishes with the state's No. 1 ranked team, Statesboro.
