Pancake fund-raiser

In an effort to raise funds for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, the management, staff and residents of the Washington Commons retirement community, on Washington Road in Evans, will hold a pancake breakfast 8-10 a.m. Oct. 24. The public is welcome, and there is no cost to attend, though a $5 donation is suggested. Additional donations will be accepted. For information, call 860-0402.

Trick-or-Treat cruise

The Augusta Canal will hold a Halloween trick-or-treat inside the Canal Interpretive Center at Enterprise Mill, 1450 Greene St. 6 p.m. Oct. 28-29 with a 45 minute tour on the Petersburg boat at 6:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged. Advance tickets are $8 per person, $10 on the nights of the cruise (if available). Call 706-823-0440, ext. 4.

Halloween sponsors

The Columbia County Recreation Department seeks sponsors for its Halloween celebration at Patriots Park, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 28. Any business interested in passing out candy while advertising their business at the event should call Stacie Adkins at 868-3458.
