Gardening at lunch

The Columbia County Extension Service will hold a lunch seminar from 12:10 to 12:45 p.m. today in the auditorium of the Government Complex in Evans. The topic will be "Attractive Vegetable Gardens." Admission is free. For information, call 868-3413.

Miss Harlem pageant

Friday at 4 p.m. is the registration deadline for contestants in the Miss City of Harlem 2004 Pageant, which will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Harlem High School auditorium. For information, call 556-0401.

Pumpkin patch

Marvin United Methodist Church will sell pumpkins at The Corner Pumpkin Patch, 4400 Wheeler Road, Martinez, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Monday through Saturday, and from 1-6 p.m. Oct. 31.

Health fair

The Medical Ministry of Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church will sponsor its annual health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 703 Furys Ferry Road, in Evans.

Yard sale

The Martinez Community Center will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Baston Road.
