The following accounts were taken from reports filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Battery arrest

A Martinez man was arrested Wednesday after being accused of a domestic disturbance with his ex-girlfriend.

Christopher Paul Harrell, 33, of the 500 block of Thomas Drive, was arrested on a charge of battery, interference with a 911 call and criminal trespass after police said a "heated" argument turned violent at his ex-girlfriend's Martinez home.

Columbia County sheriff's Deputy Shawn Merzlak, who responded to the scene, said Harrell fled from police and was found at his home an hour later.

Pantyhose stolen

A Harlem man told police Tuesday that someone stole several boxes filled with pantyhose from his truck.

The man, who parked his tractor-trailer at the 900 block of Appling Harlem Highway, said someone entered his unlocked trailer and took the pantyhose. The man said he was delivering the items to a K-Mart in Forest Park, Ga., and that the incident occurred sometime between 2:30 p.m. Sept. 26 and 4:30 a.m. Monday.

Golf car theft

An Evans woman told police Tuesday that someone stole a golf car from her driveway while she was asleep.

The 75-year-old woman, who lives at the 5000 block of Hereford Farm Road, said she left her E-Z-Go golf car parked in her driveway at 7:15 p.m. Sept. 26, according to a sheriff's office report.

She said that when she woke up the next day, she realized her golf car was gone. The vehicle's estimated value is $2,800.
