Greenbrier (0-4, 0-1) at Lakeside (2-1-1, 0-0)
7:30 p.m. Panther Stadium
Last Meeting: Lakeside bested Greenbrier, 35-28, last season capping off a 3-0 start for the Panthers.
Key Players: Greenbrier-WR Eugene Rogers, LB Reggie Rice, LB Erik Smith, DL Edward Curtis, CB Charlie Kupar. Lakeside-QB Jimmy Johnson, LB/RB Reggie Porter, RB Carl Burrow, OL Donovan Lowe, DB Chris Drayton.
Key Matchup: Greenbrier linebackers vs. Lakeside backfield.
Outlook: Greenbrier fell in its region opener to Evans and will look to avoid falling to 0-2 against county rivals. The Wolfpack have returned to full health after being plagued by injuries through the team's first three games. Lakeside has played tough every week and has one of Region 2-AAAA's best defenses. Greenbrier might find it difficult to run against the Panthers and might have to pass to win.
Harlem (2-3, 0-1) at Thomson (3-1, 1-0)
7:30 The Brickyard
Last Meeting: Thomson and Harlem haven't met recently.
Key Players: Harlem-RB Gabe Greer, WR Jeremy Larson, QB Alex Hintz, RB Chris Newsome, OL Mark Boiter. Thomson-DE Rico Murray, FB Demarcus Wilson, DL Kelsey Neal, DL Anguavions McCord, RB Clifton Belton.
Key Matchup: Thomson's run offense vs. Harlem's linebackers
Outlook: Any time a team travels to the Brickyard, they are in for a fight. Harlem has played better than expected this year, but it has to travel to a school still renowned as a state power. It could be a long day for coach Jimmie Lewis and his Bulldogs, who were upset by Richmond Academy at home last week.
Jones County (1-3, 1-0) at Evans (3-1, 1-0)
7:30 Blanchard Stadium
Last Meeting: The Knights haven't played Jones County recently.
Key Players: Evans-QB Brad Freeman, WR Ryan Crislip, RB Cheng Ho, DB Jay Acree, LB Jonathan Amerson.
Key Matchup: Evans offensive line vs. Jones County defense.
Outlook: Cheng Ho torched the Greenbrier defense for 278 yards and three touchdowns. If Jones County can't neutralize him, the team is in for a long night. The Greyhounds upset Baldwin last week and would move to 2-0 in the region with a win. Jones County was picked last in the region before the season began.
Heathwood Hall (4-0) at Augusta Christian (2-2)
7:30 Pride Valley
Last Meeting: This is their first meeting.
Key Players: Augusta Christian-QB Lee Banks, TE/LB Toby Brown, OL/DL William Lyon, WR/DB James Hawes, RB Dillon Quick.
Key Matchup: Heathwood Hill's passing attack vs. Augusta Christian's pass defense.
Outlook: Heathwood is ranked No. 1 in the state and sits atop its region standings. ACS will hope to knock off its second top ranked team (it beat Colleton Prep earlier in the season) but will have to play a near-perfect game. If the Lions win, they will have the upper hand in the region race.
