Westmont Elementary Teacher of the Year
Margaret (Margie) Quinn Burke always knew her true calling was to be an educator, and when the opportunity to make a career change presented itself, she left a retail business to pursue her real passion - teaching children.

"Motivating and challenging students in a student-centered environment is the most satisfying and challenging of career choices," Burke said.
Burke began her teaching career in 1993 at Grovetown Elementary and for the past nine years has taught the fourth and fifth grades at Westmont Elementary.
She has modeled her belief of lifelong learning by completing her bachelor's of education degree in 1992 and obtaining her doctorate of education in 2003.
Burke has incorporated Reading Renaissance in her language art's program for the past six years.
