Democrats meet

Georgia Democratic Party Chairman Bobby Kahn will be the guest speaker at a reception and monthly meeting of the Columbia County Democratic Party, at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Columbia County Government Complex Auditorium in Evans.

Chamber networking

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly networking event from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Belair Conference Center, 4083 S. Belair Road. Nextel, sponsor of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, will be giving away a NASCAR Nextel Cup VIP weekend package for two to the Mountain Dew Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, S.C.
