Jefferson County (2-1) at Lakeside (1-1-1)
7:30 Panther Stadium
LAST WEEK: The Panthers fell 19-7 in a tough region contest against Effingham County. Jefferson County spanked Harlem 35-2.
KEY PLAYERS: Lakeside-Senior QB Jimmy Johnson, senior LB Reggie Porter, senior OL Donovan Lowe.
Jefferson Co.-Senior OL Willie Thompson, senior OL Cameron Walker, senior RB Jeffery Walker.
KEY MATCHUP: Lakeside defensive line against the Warriors' offensive line.
OUTLOOK: The Warriors are starting to look like one of the area's strongest teams. After a five-turnover stumble against Cross Creek, the Warriors are rolling along having dispatched on Evans and Harlem in consecutive weeks. Lakeside has a chance to make a statement before entering in-county rivalry games.
Greenbrier (0-2) at Lincoln County (1-1)
7:30
LAST WEEK: Greenbrier lost 27-10 to Westside.
KEY PLAYERS: Greenbrier-Senior OT Tanner Hayden, junior LB Reggie Rice, junior LB Erik Smith.
Lincoln Co.-Senior OL/DL Alex Wideman, senior OL/DL Jarius Wynn, senior WR/DB Stephen Brown.
KEY MATCHUP: Greenbrier's quarterback against the Red Devils' defense.
OUTLOOK: Greenbrier is the most enigmatic team in the county. The Wolfpack have struggled mightily after having one of the area's best teams on paper. Part of the struggles have been because of injuries to superstar Eugene Rogers and quarterback Sean Gray. Gray's status is questionable. If the Wolfpack can't right the ship, then they will be heading into region play 0-3.
Richmond Hill (0-3) at Harlem (1-2)
7:30 Bulldog Stadium
LAST WEEK: Harlem was spanked by Jefferson County. Richmond Hill played competitively but lost to Glenn Hills, 22-14.
KEY PLAYERS: Harlem-Junior RB Gabe Greer, senior RB Chris Newsome, senior WR Jeremy Larson.
KEY MATCHUP: Richmond Hill backfield against Harlem defense.
OUTLOOK: The Wildcats played well against a strong Glenn Hills team. At one point, Hancock Central and Richmond Hill were two games that Harlem should win. The Bulldogs beat Hancock but Richmond Hill has been better than its record indicates. Harlem has been giving up chunks of yards on the ground and will have to play better to win.
Orangeburg Prep (2-1) at Augusta Christian (2-1)
7:30 Pride Valley
LAST WEEK: The Lions lost their first South Carolina Independent Schools Association game last week against Calhoun Academy.
KEY PLAYERS: Augusta Christian- Junior QB Lee Banks, senior LB/TE Toby Brown, sophomore RB Kyle Meeks.
KEY MATCHUP:Augusta Christian running game against the Orangeburg defense.
OUTLOOK: The ACS offense struggled in last week's loss to Calhoun and must get back on track to knock off region-foe Orangeburg. Orangeburg will be the third ranked team the Lions will have faced this season. ACS is 1-1 against those schools.
