Founded: February 1998
Known for: The church recently moved from its temporary home, Patriots Park gym, to a new location next to the business Reliable Rental. The church is located off Washington Road and shares the building with Chavous Interiors. "We are a purpose driven, Southern Baptist church," Hensley said.
Music: Hensley said the music is up-beat, with occasional traditional hymns, but the worship is normally contemporary. Music includes guitars, drums and sometimes a keyboard. The church also has a praise team and a soloist.
What would you say to someone who's thinking about giving your church a try ? "We are family oriented with a warm, friendly atmosphere," Hensley said. "We believe that church should be something you enjoy, and we strive to make it that! We embrace traditional biblical values while maintaining a contemporary approach to reaching and teaching people. If you are looking for a church to be accepted just the way you are, then this is the place you need to be."
What do you believe to be the biggest issue facing the faithful today? "Many people come to faith through Jesus Christ and join a church but do little about learning form the Bible God's plan for their lives," he said. "They come to church and hear God's word taught, and it sounds good but almost unachievable to them, and they get discouraged. Anyone who calls Jesus Lord needs to learn from him through his word so that they may be able to withstand temptation and know God's purpose in their lives."
