The Rev. Roscoe F. Perry has celebrated his 16th anniversary as pastor of First Mount Carmel Baptist Church, located on Cobbham Road in the Winfield Community.
The celebration will culminate during the church's 10 a.m. worship service on Sept. 5. The Rev. Thurmond N. Tillman, pastor of the historic First African Baptist Church, Savannah, will be the guest preacher. Perry grew up in the First African Baptist Church.
Dean's list
The following Columbia County students have been named to the Dean's list for the 2004 spring semester at Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C.: Johnny W. Morris, of Harlem; and DeMargo D. Lewis, of Martinez.
Agents named
The following have recently been named agents at CENTURY 21 Larry Miller Realty Inc. in Evans: Terri Thomas, Brenda Wright, Nathaniel Brown and Rose Castleberry.
National Guard graduates
Richard K. Brewer Jr. of Martinez and Heather J. Stanton of Grovetown are set to graduate from the Georgia national Guard-sponsored Youth Challenge Academy August 29 in Macon, Ga.
Merit's list
The following Columbia County residents have ben named to the merit's list at middle Georgia College for the summer semester: Robert E. Baldwin, of Martinez, and Seth T. Newsome, of Evans.
Dean's list
Christopher Brooks Hamilton, of Martinez, has been named to the summer 2004 Dean's list at Valdosta State University.
President's list
Tarsa M. Andres, of Grovetown, has been named to the President's list for the 2004 summer term at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Dean's list
Kelly Marie Mosley, of Appling, has made the Dean's list at Brewton-Parker College for the summer 2004 semester.

Presidential scholar
Ryan E. Schiefer, son of Barbara Schiefer, has recently been named a presidential scholar for the summer semester at the University of Georgia. Schiefer is a 2001 graduate of Greenbrier high School and is majoring in physics and mathematics.
Dean's list
Michelle L. Nelson, of Evans, and Timothy A. Wixson, of Martinez, have been named to the Dean's list for the summer 2004 term at Georgia Southern University. Nelson is majoring in community health while Wixson is majoring in exercise science.
