I am Chuck Pardue. That is Pardue with an "A." I have no personal problems with Jim Whitehead. I am sure he is a fine man. I respect his service as a county commissioner.
However, I regretted the personal attacks on state Sen. Joey Brush -- after all; Joey Brush was our state senator for 10 years. Although I disagreed with Brush on certain occasions, destroying him and bringing great pain to his family is not worth any campaign. I want the job, but not at the expense of ruining anyone.
I pray that in my campaign against Jim Whitehead, both sides will stick to the issues and qualifications and not be dragged down by a whispering campaign of outrageous innuendo and personal attacks.
The citizens of the 24th Senate District deserve better. There are real issues of economic development, help for our local schools, support for Fort Gordon and the completion of the technical college in Columbia County that requires serious consideration by the Georgia state Senate.
I proudly served my country in 1970 as a lowly enlisted soldier in the central highlands of Vietnam and many years later as a military judge in Germany. I would be honored and proud to serve as your state senator and would enjoy the challenges of making our state government more efficient, more cost effective and more responsive to the needs of Georgians.
