Fall ball registration

The Martinez-Evans Little League will hold registration for Fall Baseball on Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon at Putt-Putt. Registration is for ages 7-12.

Cross Country fund-raiser

The Evans High School Cross Country team will host a Pancake Breakfast Fund-raiser on Saturday at Applebees on Belair Road in Evans.

The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Cost is five dollars. For information call Mike Lennox at 868-3663 ext. 212.

Baseball tryouts

The Columbia County Stars 14 & Under United States Specialty Sports Association traveling team will hold tryouts August 28-29.

Players must be 13-14 years old and can not turn 15 before Aug. 1, 2005. For information, call Billy Gamblin, 798-6226 before 5 p.m. and 556-1035 after 7 p.m.

A Columbia County tournament baseball team is looking for players ages 11 and 12. For information, call Brad Thompson, 541-9726.

Walton golf tourney

The 12th Annual Walton Foundation for Independence Golf Classic will begin with a golf-skills challenge at 10 a.m. Sept. 13 at Jones Creek Golf Club, and a Lauderdale/shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. For information, call 826-5809.
