With races, GOP should 'come together'

First, I would like to congratulate all the winning candidates in the recent Republican primaries. The sheriff, state Senate, Commission District 3 and chief magistrate positions were all heated races full of great candidates.

I helped and encouraged some of the candidates personally and know they are very capable of the jobs for which they were running. I was pleased with the results of some races and disappointed with others.

Now that the primaries are over, the people have chosen the candidates, and it is time for the Republicans to come together and stand behind those who were chosen.

Columbia County is one of the most, if not the most, Republican County in Georgia and we need to stick together and be sure that we do what we can to keep Republicans in office and help elect new Republicans to office.

I would also encourage everyone to get involved with the local Republican Party. We have a great county and great leadership, and as long as we keep electing strong Republican leaders we can keep it that way.
