In the reader's survey for the 2004 Community Choice Awards, U.S. Rep. Charlie Norwood and the late comedian Oliver Hardy are recognized as the "Most-known person from Columbia County."
The second-annual contest, compiled from reader votes, recognizes everything from the best place to get pizza (Upper Crust) the best local florist (Martina's) the best auto-body repair shop (Cushman's) to the county1s best-kept secret (Savannah Rapids Pavilion).
