Local Little League teams advance

The Martinez-Evans Little League All-Star teams both advanced out of sub-district play recently to the district tournament in Oglethorpe County.

The National League team beat Oglethorpe County 6-0 and the American League team won 12-1 over Elbert County on Friday.

The National All-Stars defeated the American team, 7-5, in the district title game and advanced to the Georgia Little League State Championship.

If the National All-Stars win the state title, they would head to regional play and then to Williamsport, Pa. for the Little League Championship.
