Editor:
As county elections are fast approaching I ask my fellow residents and neighbors of Columbia County to seek the necessary knowledge needed to make educated voting choices and not allow the signs that litter our roadways to be a guide for proof of leadership.
Any department left to self-manage or a department without a leader consistently present will begin to fall apart. Our current magistrate's office in Columbia County is suffering from a great lack of leadership.
We know this past year that someone was stealing money from the magistrate office. There have been other legal issues within the magistrate office that have not been made public. ...
I believe that it is time for our county to show great pride in our magistrate's office. I think that our chief magistrate should be someone concerned with growing and improving the department. Our chief magistrate should strive to create and maintain a respectable department. Our chief magistrate should know the law, uphold the law and enforce the law regardless of who the lawbreakers may be. I think that our chief magistrate should be concerned with the county's needs, and not the political clout that the title brings.
I ask that the voters of Columbia County research the current magistrate's office and the policies currently in place. You will find that it is time for leadership.
Vote Richard Ingram.
