New elementary school will create 'traffic nightmare' in Evans

I would like to know the rationale for locating the new elementary school within half a mile of Riverside Middle School and at the junction of two dead-end, two-lane, winding country roads. Obviously I am referring to Mullikin and Conn roads. Not only are they both dead-end roads, but Conn empties into Mullikin!

Has anyone given any thought to the simple fact that there are a half-dozen fair-sized subdivisions whose only ingress/egress is Mullikin Road? They are Eagle Trace, Eagle Landing, River Bend, Hamilton Crossing and Hamilton Village, to name some of them.

What kind of traffic nightmare will result when the moms are bringing or picking up their young 'uns at both schools? Both schools have/will have egress onto Mullikin Road. Does someone have to die because emergency equipment gets held up on Mullikin?

At the very least, Mullikin should be widened to four lanes with accessory turn lanes.

I never favor traffic lights since they interfere with the smooth flow of traffic, but maybe in this situation some will be necessary.
