Augusta Prep makes coaching changes

Augusta Preparatory Day School recently hired three new coaches to fill vacant positions.

Kevin Furtado, who has coached both boy's and girl's varsity basketball the last two seasons, left the school to coach girl's basketball at Tatnall Square Academy in Macon.

Mike Guthrie has been tabbed to fill the varsity boy's job and Maureen McCormack will fill the varsity girl's position.

Augusta Prep promoted assistant tennis coach Chris Dickson to the head job replacing departed coach Mark Farmer.

Farmer left to teach at Forsyth Country Day School in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Greenbrier Coaching Changes

Golf coach Clint Woodfin recently left Greenbrier to take the head golf job at Parkview High in Lawrenceville, Ga. Athletic director Mickey Derrick said the position has not been immediately filled but that he did have a candidate.

Head baseball coach Ed Williams will leave his position as the secondary coach of the varsity football team to serve as an assistant coach with the varsity softball team and Garrett Black. Williams was replaced by Brian Smith, a secondary coach with North Augusta last season.
