Congressional hearings demonstrate 'disrespect' for the military

The House and Senate panels that were recently questioning Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Joint Chiefs of Staff Air Force Gen. Richard Meyers and other military were shameful. The questions were very disrespectful, and at times bordered on the verge of arrogance and stupidity.

These military put their lives on the line 24 hours a day. No man is perfect; otherwise, the congressmen and senators would not have to worry about re-election.

How about when the politicians make a mistake? Do other politicians grill them? No, they are in their own "brotherhood" league. Were mistakes made? Yes, but let the investigation that started in January finish and the guilty be punished. Instead of taking a short boondoggle trip to Iraq, let the politicians spend a month or more there.

I am a proud military wife; my husband spent 23 years in the military. Let's start treating our military with the respect and dignity they deserve. God bless America.
