County should deny restaurant's request for gravel parking lot

I was in attendance at the commission meeting when the subject of Fatz's parking came up. I thought it was very unusual that we, the county, would consider bending the rules for a restaurant.

I have followed Fatz's Cafe's steps for a variance to the county's parking regulations for the property. The alternative is available to Fatz to pave additional parking and pay for the paving.

I question the assertion by Fatz that demand is higher now and will decrease after the newness wears away and am convinced that the higher parking demand will remain.

Their objective is to buy additional time until another user on this site will assume the cost for paving the additional parking.

The county should deny the request of Fatz for the county to help pay for the paving by temporarily waving the parking requirement.
