Crash backs up traffic

Traffic backed up on Interstate 20 in the eastbound lanes near Appling behind an accident Monday as an AirMed helicopter landed to transport one of the victims to the hospital. Emergency workers took about an hour to extricate one of the victims from an overturned truck. Three people were taken to area hospitals, police said, but none had life-threatening injuries.
