Cheerleading tryouts

Southern Mpact will have 2004-05 Allstar Cheerleading tryouts May 3-8, with a parents' meeting 5:30 p.m. May 3. Participants 12th grade and younger are invited. For information, call 737-2727.

Lakeside fund-raiser

The Lakeside High School Athletic Association will hold a fund-raiser 6-8 p.m. April 26 to raise funds for retirement of the debt for the lights on the softball field. Activities will include a celebrity home run contest and a five-inning game featuring local celebrities, school officials and political leaders, and games for all ages. Cheerleading tryouts

The Hayden's Allstar Cheerleading Program will hold 2004-05 tryouts May 2 at Hayden's Cheer Gym, 4300 Evans-to-Locks Road. Preparation clinics will be April 26-May 1, with a parent's information meeting April 25. Boys and girls ages 12th grade and below are eligible, with no experience necessary. Volleyball camp

Augusta Prep's annual summer volleyball camp will be June 14-17, with session for middle- and high-school players. The cost is $80 and includes a camp T-shirt. For information, call Coach Rich Bland at 863-1906.

Baseball camp

Harlem High School's annual baseball camp will be June 7-11 at the Harlem recreation field. The camp is for ages 7-14, the cost is $50 per player, and the camp will run from 9 a.m. till noon each day. For more information call Jimmie Lewis at 556-6659 or Benjie Moore at 556-9136.

Players sought

Columbia County Tournament Baseball Team is looking for players ages 11 and 12. For information, call Brad Thompson, 541-9726.

Swimming clinics

The Aiken-Augusta Swim League is holding a series of Saturday morning clinics, titled Get Ready for Summer, from 10 to 11 a.m. each Saturday in April and on May 1. Swimmers can enroll for $15 per session.

To enroll children ages 6-18, contact ASL head coach David McDevitt at 860-9679. The name and age of the child can also be e-mailed to the coach at aslswim@comcast.net.

Basketball camp

Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is by invitation only. Boys and girls ages 10-19 are eligible to apply. For a free brochure, call (704) 373-0873.

Y fitness program

The Family Y Par Fitness youth golf program will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday from May 22-June 16 at the Wilson Family Y on Wheeler Road, and at First Tee of Augusta on Damascus Road. Registration deadline is May 26. For information, call 733-1030.
