Road-paving dedication

County and Grovetown city

officials met at the entrance to Old Berzelia Road March 22 to break ground for a road-paving project already awarded to Robertson Grading. Present were City Councilman Anthony Arnold (from left), County Construction and Maintenance Director Kevin Lear, County Commissioner Lee Anderson, Grovetown Mayor Dennis Trudeau and Project Manager Ronnie Hutto. The

project is expected to take about one year to complete and cost $365,000. Trudeau said he had waited a long time to see this road paved, and he was delighted to see it finally underway. Anderson also expressed his

satisfaction that county local sales tax funds could be used to provide a paved road for

residents to use. He said the paving also would save the county funds by eliminating the need

for continuous dirt-road

maintenance by county crews.
