Editor:
How refreshing to read about a very positive happening in an Evans school.
I'm referring to the Wednesday, Feb. 25 story in The Columbia County News-Times concerning retiree Kay Matlock and the wonderful folks at Evans High School who saw a need and made sure that the need was met.
Matlock spent many years at Evans High School as a bookkeeper, and both students and faculty members learned to love her and appreciate all she did. So, when she had a big need, who but Evans High staff and students came to her aid!
A special thanks go to Sheila Rogers, Chris Segraves and David Adams. These fine people "got the ball rolling," and in a short time Matlock had the wheelchair ramp to her home that she so badly needed. Life for her will be a much easier because many cared.
Yes, good things do take place in our school. Keep up the good work!
