County commissioners should reject Rhinehart's liquor license

Editor:

Rhinehart's Oyster Bar was unable to apply for a liquor license (after much protest from parents and neighbors) because the property they want to build on was within the zoning laws of a school, Bel Air Elementary.

Did that stop them? No, they have bought a little more property and are now 7 feet past the zoning of a school.

This intersection will be loaded with Friday night football traffic with many young drivers and customers from Rhineharts. This seems a disaster in the making.

I urge all parents of students of Evans High and Bel Air to attend the Columbia County commissioners meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Government Complex Auditorium.

I urge the Columbia County commissioners not to grant this liquor license. Don't let a student get killed because of the money Rhinehart's may bring into the county coffers.
